Water is so good for our bodies and for lubricating our minds. Health practitioners advise we drink around 2 litres of water a day.
In the UK, we are lucky to be able to have access to safe drinking water at the twist of a tap. But though we have access to water, it does not mean we have an endless supply.
Although we receive a plentiful supply of rainfall, we do not have enough reservoirs to collect natures bountiful gift.
In the SE England there is less water per person available than in the desert states of Syria and Sudan.
Another startling fact is that we churn through approximately 150 litres of water per person per day. Increasing at 1% every year. Our grandparents managed on 18 litres a day.
It’s really important that we conserve our water supplies and reduce our personal usage.
Here are a few water saving tips:
💧At the end of the day don’t throw away the last of your glass of water, give them to your house plants.
💧Make sure your dishwasher or washing up bowl if full before washing dishes
💧Washing Machines should have a full load and used on economy settings
💧Turn off the taps whilst brushing your teeth
💧Check for leaking hosepipes, taps and pipes
